Bokutachi wa Akuma: Chapter Eleven (Maruki and Aiya)

In their one floor apartment building, the black haired boy came in the door after walking Satsuki, the household dog. Panting from all the exercise and dripping from the rain that was still falling down, Satsuki shook herself off and ran to her bed to dry herself off more. Satsuki was a white, fox terrier mix; a medium sized dog that was a perfect size for their apartment.
“Oi, oi, oi! Satsuki! You're going to dirty the floors!” The black haired boy had slipped off his shoes, placing them on the wooden poles of which was considered a shoe dryer. He had placed a dog towel near the door so that he could dry Satsuki off when they came home. “Satsuki!” He called after her again, his high-pitched voice cracking slightly.

Drying behind his ears with a small white towel that hung around his shoulders, Maruki came around the corner, the other roommate of the apartment and the owner of the dog; dressed in a baggy t-shirt and knee length shorts the shorter, brown haired boy looked into the hallway at his dripping friend. Staring at the drenched black haired boy for a moment before looking off to the direction of where soft, quick patters came from. Satsuki came trotting back into the entrance, her claws clapping against the hardwood floors. He smiled softly and patted her back as she ran by him.
“Still going out Aiya? We could just play with her here you know.” He leaned against the corner of the wall, staring down at Aiya as a drop of water dripped from his still wet, caramel coloured hair.

Aiya took Satsuki’s torso and rubbed her down with the towel, peering up at Maruki, he smiled softly.
“Satsuki needs an adequate amount of exercise each day, Maa. Walking is best for her.” Having her dry enough now, Aiya pat her butt and sent her off again. He turned and hung the towel over the shoe rack to dry then stepped up onto the main floor landing. Maruki had blocked him off, standing in his way. Looking up from the floor in a small state of shock, Aiya left one foot on the main floor landing and the other in the sunken entrance. Maruki held a sweet smile; his eyes beaming with a bright light again, holding his own beautiful aura. He removed the towel from his shoulders and wrapped it around Aiya's neck, pulling him up to his level, closer to himself.

Aiya's eyes widened, obediently stepping closer to Maruki, who then draped the towel over his head, rubbing it dry. Aiya stiffened up and stepped even closer to Maruki. His head drooped down, enjoying the feeling of Maruki's fingers against his scalp. Aiya let out a soft moan, letting his eyes slide shut. Maruki then draped the towel back around Aiya's shoulders, and walked off, leaving Aiya standing there in awe.

Having noticed that Maruki had walked off, Aiya's eyes shot open seeing a blank wall and an empty hallway. The living room, he had heard the TV being turned on. His wet socks had squished on the hardwood flooring as he darted around the corner into the white living room.
“Maruki…” He pouted in his high-pitched voice, drooping himself over the chair. He looked up, his brows rising slightly. “What’s that?” His eyes focused on the television.

It was the news about the attacks. The reporter was in the hospital, interviewing a survivor who had been sedated for days to allow them to recover. Maruki turned from the TV to Aiya, chuckling in seeing draped over the chair like a child.
“I don't know, I just turned it on.” He looked to the television again, listening carefully now.

α “… he was friendly, a good person to be around. He was very good looking too.” The young girl placed her hand over her head, obviously feeling light headed. When she had recovered, she continued with the interview. “I, I was walking home from a night out with friends, I was a little tipsy. I had fallen into him accidentally and apologized quickly. He was kind and understanding about the situation, he even offered me out to coffee. After our coffee I was feeling better and he offered to walk me home. The young girl paused again, adjusting the blanket on her lap.
“From there I can’t remember anything. I don't think I ever made it home. Then the next think I remember was waking up here in the hospital.”

The older male reporter leaned in closer to the girl, placing a hand on hers, making a connection for the sake of television.
“So you remember anything about him? Can you remember anything like his appearance, clothing, anything? Authorities are only wanting to help you.” α

Maruki grabbed the remote again, changing the input of the television so he could continue with his plans in watching a movie. Aiya pushed himself up quickly, his damp hair falling down his forehead as he shot up.
“Hey! I wanted to know what happened to her!” His eyes darted up to Maruki, looking at him like a sad puppy.

Maruki leaned his cheek over his shoulder, a small corner smile forming on his lush, full lips. He looked over at Aiya with a sense of know-it-all in gleaming in his eyes.
“Just relax, Ai. I want to watch a movie with you.” He pressed the button of their new Playstation 3, the movie was already in and ready to be played. “We’ll watch it again in the evening news, okei?” He grabbed the remote that they had bought for their system and dropped himself down on their plush, cream coloured couch, patting the cushion next to him.

Aiya ears had propped up; his long slender fingers grabbed their chair as he ran around it. His jaw hung open as he ran on air to Maruki's side. Throwing his foot underneath himself, he sat down near Maruki, nearly sitting on him. Maruki had turned on the movie, and Aiya had curled up into him. Looking over his shoulder to him, Maruki pulled the plush throw off the back of the couch, flicking his wrist to unfold it. He draped it over his and Aiya's lap, keeping both of them warm. Wrapping his arm over and around Aiya's shoulder, he pulled him in closely to himself.

Aiya had curled in closely, his heart racing. He was nervous, yet controlling himself as best he could to enjoy this position. He lifted the blanket to cover his arm as he wrapped it around Maruki's waist, feeling his emitting warmth. The movie had started, silencing both of them. Biting his lip slightly, Maruki hesitantly grasped Aiya's hand in his own, holding it warmly.

Leaning his head on Maruki's shoulder, Aiya was at ease and relaxed enough that he could fall asleep. His long feminine lashes slowly knit closer and closer together. In the warm aura of Maruki, Aiya fell asleep quickly. Leaning his head down, resting his chin on Aiya's forehead, Maruki paused the movie, remaining as quiet as he possibly could. Turning the television off, Maruki had relaxed and leaned himself on Aiya, relaxing slowly. Soon he fell asleep, lying arm in arm with Aiya. The two were left in the darkened room, with the rain trickling down the windows, beating down heavily on the roads outside, the soft sound echoing throughout the apartment.
